I am a first year teacher in my hometown in South Central Kentucky. I will be the newest 5th grade Language Arts teacher, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I am even so lucky as to return to my old school to begin my teaching career. After being offered the position as a 5th grade teacher, I couldn't believe my luck! It was actually 5th grade when I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. Sure, I might have had a few fantasies about becoming a Marine Biologist (had to move away for that, so nope) or an Artist (not a great artist, so nope) but I always came back to my love of learning and learning with kids. I was meant to be a teacher, and thank God that I didn't follow my fickle fantasies of being a Marine Biologist!
I live in a rural community with my close-knit family close at hand. I have two sisters, both of which I am extremely close to. I am very proud of my background, and am extremely happy with where I am in life. I find it amazing that older generations of my family didn't finish third grade or go to school at all, and here I am today ready to teach children. I am very blessed.
